For the record, my meeting with Joel was only about 5 minutes, but I deny ever saying that I thought Joel only wanted us for the warehouse. I did say that another employee who I won't name had said that exact thing. I am also furious that my name has been dragged into this without anyone asking me.
It's all on the public record. I do apologize if you're upset, but this is on Sparkle Pop who put the filing out there without any redactions. The information is freely available now. I didn't edit any of it, I didn't change any of it.
I am happy to discuss this more with you, if you want, via email. It'll be all off the record. Again, I do apologize if this has caused you angst. If you want, I will redact your name, along with the others.
Oh no, sorry I was not more exact, I am not angry at you or any other journalist that quotes the legal documents, and there is no need to redact anything. I am not even angry at Joe Lunday, as I know he is an honest man and I am sure he stated the conversation as he remembered it. I am angry that those documents misrepresent my position and the conversation as I remember it.
I can understand the anger perfectly, and am relieved that it's towards me. Sometimes we forget that there are real people involved with this, and it's affecting a lot of you very much. People who've dedicated the best part of their lives for Diamond, and you're cast aside like scrap paper by the new owners.
I keep getting asked, what do I think the end goal is for Sparkle Pop, Universal, Alliance, Diamond and the others involved in this and, frankly, I have no idea. They're doing their best to utterly demolish a long standing company and run it into the dirt. Hell, they've already done it.
My best to you Steven, and I'm always here if you need to vent, again, off or on the record.
