Buck Rogers was insanely popular in the 30s, 40s and the 1950s. While I was researching the previous series, I was delighted to find advertisement after advertisement for Buck. Be it newspaper strips, comic books, books, toys, clothing and more, during the early years of Buck’s existence, kids had it good.
To that end, and because it’s a Sunday morning here, I just want to show you some of the ads that tickled my fancy and brought back memories. As a kid growing up in Australia in the 1970s, even I saw some of these vintage toys. Silly me never thought to grab them and keep them though. Oh well, such is life.
Now, on with the show!
And then the 1979 television show started. Unfortunately, a lot of the Buck Rogers toys and spaceships looked straight out of the Star Wars book.
Oh well. If I had my choice, I’d grab me a big ole tin of Morton’s Salt just to get the spaceship with the suction cup, which I’m sure lasted for about five crashes into the wall.
Good days. Until next time!
